New Assistive Technology Funding Guide available

SMD has released its updated 2011 Assistive Technology Funding Guide.
The guide contains information on Assistive Technology - essentially any item, piece of equipment or system used to increase, maintain or improve how a person performs tasks of daily living - and the various ways Manitobans can receive assistance with their needs.
The guide provides information on products available from a number of suppliers including:
- SMD Wheelchair Services
- Assistive Technology Service
- Rehabilitation Centre for Children
- Employment Income Assistance
- Open Access Resource Centre
- MTS Allstream
- Manitoba Homecare Program
It also provides information on both government-based funding and non-profit, charity-based funding as well as financial loans (r, HASI, Employment and Income Assistance, Emergency Repair Program, Manitoba Hydro, Vocational Rehabilitation Program), refunds and tax credits.
