We're breaking down barriers - and we can't do it alone!

April 17, 2009

Is there something about your environment, situation or daily life that prevents you from living the way you want?

Barrier-Free Manitoba wants to hear about it – and then they want to make it go away!

What’s Your Barrier? is an interactive public awareness campaign just launched by Barrier Free Manitoba is designed to reach out to those whose lives are affected by barriers.

The campaign calls on disabled Manitobans, their families and those who work for and with them to identify what they see as key barriers to province-wide accessibility. The ultimate goal is to collect 5,000 answers from 5,000 individuals – a response Barrier Free Manitoba hopes will prompt policy-makers to remove barriers at a legislative level.

As a disabled or affected Manitoban, you can identify key barriers by either completing a brief online survey or by completing and mailing a survey postcard that is currently in distribution by BFM stakeholder groups – SMD included.

To ensure we get 5,000 participants, help us by distributing the survey postcards to your network or complete postcards and online surveys together.

Together, we can help make Barrier-Free Manitoba make a difference!

Barrier-Free Manitoba is a coalition dedicated to working with policy-makers to remove barriers faced by those with disabilities and encourage active, enjoyable living.
