December 3 is International Day for Disabled Persons.
While we encourage every Manitoban to consider the needs, rights and plights of the disabled community every day of the year, we ask you to make a concentrated effort today.
United Nations Enable has focused this year’s International Day of the Disabled on ensuring persons with disabilities receive opportunities for decent work and also finding ways to tap into the abilities of this traditionally marginalized talent pool.
The UN encourages businesses, government and the disability community to work closely to address both the lack of opportunities and the attitude within the workforce that create barriers between the disability community and gainful employment.
