Assistive Technology Helps Mitch Achieve P.I.E. for Life!

Today is December 3rd, International Day of Persons with Disabilities and we wanted to share with you Michael (Mitch) Krohn’s story.

Two years ago at the age of 43, Mitch suffered a stroke while undergoing emergency spinal surgery leaving him unable to walk and use his left arm.

After the surgery, Mitch required a power wheelchair lift and had a deck built to accommodate a new way for him to get in and out of his house.  Stairs were were no longer an option. He waited 6 months before he was able to enter his home.  Read his complete story.

A disability can affect anyone at anytime.  Mitch's life changed within 24 hours.

SMD’s Assistive Technology program provides vital rebates for customized items like Mitch’s lift. Currently, there is no more money available. Our goal is to raise $1,500 to cover the remaining balance of the lift & home modification.

Please donate today to help support this program so Mitch and others can receive their assistive technology devices.
