Accessible Customer Service Standard Workshop

The Society for Manitobans with Disabilities will be offering several in-person workshops to help businesses and organizations train their staff on the requirements of the new Accessible Customer Service Standard.

All businesses and organizations need to train staff and volunteers about the accessible customer service standard before November 2018. It’s the law in Manitoba. Registered participants will receive a certificate stating that they have attended the Accessible Customer Service Standard training.

The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) Standard on customer service is now law in Manitoba. Along with other requirements, this law requires that all businesses and organizations train all employees and volunteers who interact with the public. The Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Manitobans Act and the Customer Service Standard will be reviewed in this session presented in collaboration with the World Trade Centre Winnipeg and Society for Manitobans with Disabilities. Registered participants will receive a certificate stating that they have attended the Accessible Customer Service Standard training.

Attendee will learn the following:

  1. Interacting and communicating with persons with disabilities facing barriers
  2. Recognizing and respecting the various support that people with disabilities may use such as assistive devices, support person or service animal
  3. Providing support to a person with a disability who is having difficulty accessing a product or service
     

Note: Certificates will be provided to each participant
