Newcomer Navigation & Support Unit

Helping newcomers with disabilities access support in Manitoba.

what we offer.

Service Navigation and Support

Many newcomers, particularly refugees, arrive from countries with very different healthcare systems, social services and disability supports.

Our cultural resource facilitators break down barriers, offering support in their first language to bridge the gap between families and service providers. We guide clients to make informed decisions about their care while ensuring that service providers respect their cultural practices and beliefs.

Language Program for Newcomers

Working in a small group setting, this culturally sensitive program is for Deaf or hard of hearing newcomers who want to learn English or American Sign Language (ASL) as additional languages.
