Assisting adults with disabilities to find, obtain and maintain employment

Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation is the progressive process of empowering individuals with disabilities to plan, prepare for, attain and maintain gainful employment. Manitoba Possible vocational rehabilitation counsellors assist program participants in exploring their goals based on interests, skills and abilities.

How To Apply:

  1. Contact the intake counsellor at 204-975-3101 or email csanjuan@manitobapossible.ca to request the application and medical forms

  2. After your forms and medical are received, the intake counsellor will contact you for an interview

After the intake process, and are deemed eligible for services, a vocational rehabilitation counsellor will be assigned to work with you to help you develop a vocational plan.

After Approval:

  1. Assessment: Review skills, abilities, interests, educational background, and previous experience.

  2. Develop Individualized Plan: Gather information from your assessment, select appropriate goals and identify next steps.

  3. Counselling: Receive one-on-one support from a vocational rehabilitation counsellor. Their role is to support, encourage and assist with problem-solving regarding next steps in obtaining employment.

  4. Implementation: Put your plan in action with support from your vocational rehabilitation counsellor.

  5. Follow-Up: Your counsellor will provide support during the transition phase of your new job and, if required, support you for a period of time while employed.
